The Kaduna State Police Command has restricted the movement of heavy-duty vehicles in Kaduna metropolis from midnight to 8 p.m. on Saturday ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s visit.

Tinubu is expected to attend the launch of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally in Kaduna.

The Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Rabiu, said the restriction would reduce traffic congestion and ensure smooth movement during the visit.

It applies to trailers, tankers, lorries and other heavy-duty vehicles.

Police and other security agencies have deployed personnel to protect the President, other dignitaries and members of the public.

The police also advised residents to avoid the campaign venue unless they have official business there.

They warned against political violence, thuggery, intimidation and the carrying of dangerous weapons.

Heavy-duty vehicle drivers were advised to use alternative routes during the restriction.

Rabiu urged residents, political supporters and the media to cooperate with security agencies to ensure a peaceful event.
