President Bola Tinubu will launch his 2027 re-election campaign in Kaduna on October 24, according to Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.
Yari disclosed this on Friday after meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
He said the campaign would begin in Kaduna before moving to Port Harcourt and Maiduguri.
He added that the campaign timetable had been approved by the president and would be made public after the campaign council’s inauguration on October 14.
Yari also expressed confidence that Tinubu would defeat his major opponents, including Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Peter Obi, arguing that they lacked enough political support across the country.
According to Yari, Tinubu has strong support in more than 10 states in both northern and southern Nigeria, while Atiku and Obi lack similar nationwide influence.
He argued that winning the presidency requires support from both regions, adding that strong backing in only one part of the country would not be enough to secure victory.
Yari defended Tinubu’s performance, saying his administration had made progress in addressing the country’s economic challenges and would continue implementing its policies rather than making promises.
