Nollywood actors, musicians, comedians and other entertainers are expected to gather in Ilaro, Ogun State, to celebrate the life and career of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
The event, called Artists’ Day, will take place at Pavilion Hall in Ilaro and will be coordinated by the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN).
The event is part of the final activities planned by Ogogo’s family following his death and burial.
Veteran actor Jide Kosoko announced that the gathering would feature performances and entertainment by actors, musicians, singers and comedians.
The family also announced an eighth-day Fidau prayer for Ogogo on August 31 in Ilaro.Unlike the religious prayer, Artists’ Day will focus on celebrating Ogogo’s contribution to Yoruba cinema and the entertainment industry through performances and tributes.
