The veteran musician shared photographs and videos of the occasion on his Instagram account, including an image of himself holding his American citizenship certificate.
He was also pictured with his wife beside the US flag.
News of the development attracted congratulatory messages from fellow Nigerian entertainers and music producers.
Among those who celebrated him were music producer ID Cabasa and singer 9ice.
Lord of Ajasa is regarded as one of the pioneers who helped bring Yoruba-language rap into Nigeria’s mainstream music scene.
His career came before the emergence of several other major indigenous rappers, including Dagrin, Olamide and Reminisce.
