A KAROTA patrol vehicle was set on fire by an angry mob on Wednesday after a road accident at Kwanar Dawaki in Kano State.

KAROTA Deputy Managing Director, Auwal Lawan Shu’aibu Aranposu, said the incident happened after a trailer crashed into a Sharon passenger bus.

KAROTA officers arrived at the scene and tried to arrest the trailer driver.

He said some angry youths attacked the officers and burned their patrol vehicle.

Aranposu denied claims that KAROTA officials caused the accident, saying the officers only arrived after the crash to carry out their duties.

He condemned the attack and the destruction of government property, urging the public to remain calm and allow authorities to investigate the incident.

As of the time of this report, no arrests had been announced.
