Former Information Minister Lai Mohammed has shared a story about his relationship with late President Muhammadu Buhari, saying Buhari once asked him how many people he had killed because he often fasted.
Mohammed said the incident happened when he visited Buhari in Kaduna with President Bola Tinubu and APC leader Bisi Akande.
He explained that during their meetings, he usually avoided eating because he fasted on Mondays and Thursdays.
Buhari later asked Tinubu why Lai did not trust him enough to eat in his house.
According to Mohammed, Buhari later called him privately and asked why he was always fasting, jokingly asking if he had killed anyone.
Mohammed said he told Buhari he had never killed anybody and explained that fasting was part of his religious practice.
He described his relationship with Buhari as special, saying they remained close even after Buhari left office.
He added that it was a privilege to have known and worked with the former president.
