Gunmen Kill History Professor in Benue

A History Professor at Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi, Prof. Gabriel Nyityo, has been killed by unknown gunmen in Makurdi, Benue State.

Security sources said the professor was shot at his home in Adaka area in the early hours of Wednesday.

A lecturer at the university confirmed the incident, describing Prof. Nyityo as a peaceful person and his death as shocking.

Family members, friends, and sympathisers gathered at his residence to mourn him, while his body was taken to a mortuary.

The Benue State Police Command had not released an official statement on the incident at the time of reporting.
