Weekenders Magazine has congratulated the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike, on winning the 2026 Silent Heroes Award in Management.
In a statement, the Executive Director of Weekenders Media Commercial Limited, Princess Joy Omagha Idam, described the award as a well-deserved recognition of Grace Ike’s strong leadership, dedication to journalism and commitment to improving the welfare of media professionals.

Idam said that since becoming NUJ FCT Chairman, Grace Ike has shown excellent leadership by promoting ethical journalism, strengthening unity among members and creating opportunities for journalists to develop professionally.
“Comrade Grace Ike has distinguished herself as a courageous, visionary and result-oriented leader. This honour is a celebration of her selfless service and purposeful leadership,” Idam said.
She added that Grace Ike has led the council with transparency, accountability and innovation, earning the respect of journalists and other stakeholders in the media industry.
“The Stallion has continued to redefine leadership through hard work, integrity and her commitment to journalists’ welfare. She truly deserves this prestigious award,” she added.
Idam also praised the organisers of the Silent Heroes Awards for recognising people whose contributions have made a positive impact on society.
She expressed confidence that the award would encourage Grace Ike to continue raising leadership standards in the journalism profession and contributing to national development.
