Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have killed eight suspected terrorists and rescued three kidnapped victims in Katsina, Kaduna and Zamfara states.

The troops also recovered an AK-47 rifle, three locally made guns, three motorcycles, cutlasses and charms.

The task force’s spokesperson, Captain Tamuno Sinivie, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.

In Katsina State, troops killed two suspected terrorists during a gun battle in Sabuwa Local Government Area on Saturday, October 24. They also rescued a 42-year-old man, Suleiman Umar, who had been kidnapped, and recovered an AK-47 rifle and a motorcycle.

In Kaduna State, troops working with the Civilian Joint Task Force killed six suspected terrorists after foiling an ambush in Igabi Local Government Area. The suspects had reportedly fled with two kidnapped victims during an earlier attack.

In Zamfara State, troops rescued two men, Shehu Chete, 40, and Bugu Bedi, 25, in Bagega, Anka Local Government Area, on Sunday, October 25. The victims were taken to a clinic for medical attention before arrangements were made to reunite them with their families.

Captain Sinivie said troops were continuing patrols and search operations to arrest fleeing suspects, rescue other victims and prevent further attacks.

He urged residents to provide security agencies with credible information about suspicious activities in their communities.
