The Chairperson of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Grace Ike, has received a Humanitarian Award for Excellence in Service.
The award was given by the Women of Glory Foundation in Abuja during its 10th anniversary celebration.

Grace Ike was also named the “Most Active Journalistic Mobilizer” because of her efforts in bringing journalists together and encouraging them to focus on public interest and social development.
The award was received on her behalf by Sharon Emephia, the Assistant Secretary of the NUJ FCT Council.
She said the honour shows the council’s commitment to professionalism, service, and dedication.
The event brought together women leaders, professionals, and activists from different parts of Nigeria.
It was organised to mark 10 years of work by the Women of Glory Foundation, which supports widows, single mothers, elderly women, and other vulnerable people.
The foundation provides training, healthcare support, mentorship, and advocacy.
The founder of the foundation, Nneka Evelyn Nzewi, said the organisation was inspired by her childhood struggles after she lost her father and saw her mother struggle to raise five children alone.
She explained that this experience made her decide to help vulnerable women if she ever got the chance.
In her message, Grace Ike thanked the foundation for the honour and said the award belongs to all journalists in the NUJ FCT Council who work to promote truth and development in society.
The Women of Glory Foundation said it will continue its work of empowering women and supporting communities across Nigeria as it enters its next decade of service.
