Jet Fuel Costs Put Pressure on Nigerian Airlines

Rising aviation fuel costs and disputes involving fuel suppliers are causing fresh problems for airline passengers in Nigeria.

Some Air Peace passengers were reportedly stranded at Abuja airport after flights to Lagos, Maiduguri and Asaba were delayed or cancelled.

Aero Contractors Managing Director, Ado Sanusi, said aviation fuel is available but remains expensive.

He put the price at about N2,000 per litre in Lagos and said it is slightly higher in other locations.

Sanusi also said Aero Contractors had no outstanding debts to fuel marketers, adding that the airline pays its bills when they are due.
