Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, has predicted that President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election by a wide margin.
Lawal made the statement during an interview on Channels Television shortly after announcing his resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He said he was leaving active politics because he was unhappy with the way politics is practised in Nigeria.
According to him, he now wants to focus on farming and church activities.
Lawal, who was part of an opposition coalition that adopted the ADC as its platform, said Tinubu would be very difficult to defeat in the next election.
He claimed that if election manipulation determines victory in Nigeria, no politician can match Tinubu.
He also suggested that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar would struggle against Tinubu if both rely on political influence to win elections.
The former SGF further stated that he would not support Peter Obi in the 2027 election, adding that he no longer wants to be involved in politics.
“I won’t support Peter Obi. I don’t want to be part of anything again,” Lawal said.
