The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council, Grace Ike, has been praised for supporting education and youth development through academic programmes for secondary school students in the Federal Capital Territory.
As part of the initiative, quiz and academic competitions were organised for selected students to encourage learning, intellectual growth, and healthy competition among young people.

The programme also helped students build confidence, improve their academic performance, and discover their talents.
Observers said the initiative came at an important time when many young people need motivation, guidance, and positive opportunities to succeed in their studies and future careers.
The competition also encouraged discipline, teamwork, critical thinking, and a stronger interest in education among participating students and schools.
Grace Ike was commended for using her leadership position to support education and youth empowerment, with many describing her efforts as a good example of how the media can contribute to national development beyond reporting news.
