Former Nigerian President, , has expressed worry over the increasing insecurity and violence in Nigeria.

He spoke on Saturday during the 13th Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Abuja held at St James Anglican Church in Asokoro, Abuja.

Jonathan said many Nigerians are now treating killings and violent attacks as normal events.

According to him, in the past, such incidents would shock the whole country, but today people are killed and communities destroyed while life continues as if nothing happened.

He said this shows that the country is gradually losing its moral values and respect for human life.

The former president added that violence, insecurity, and moral decline have become serious problems in Nigeria.

He called on Nigerians to return to good values and urged leaders to show honesty, courage, and commitment in solving the country’s problems.

Jonathan also said the Church has an important role in guiding society.

He encouraged religious leaders to continue speaking the truth and promoting what is right.

He further stated that Nigeria can only move forward if leaders govern with honesty, integrity, and clear vision.

Finally, he urged Nigerians not to lose hope and to continue working together for peace, justice, and national development.
