The N2.2 trillion Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals Free Zone Enterprise has officially opened for subscription on the Nigerian Exchange.

Stockbrokers who spoke during the opening ceremony expressed confidence that the offer would attract strong interest from investors and could be fully subscribed.

The IPO gives investors an opportunity to become shareholders in the Dangote refinery, one of Africa’s largest oil refineries.

The company is expected to play an important role in Nigeria’s petroleum industry by supplying refined petroleum products to the domestic market and potentially exporting to other countries.

The opening of the offer is being closely watched by investors because of the size of the refinery and its importance to Nigeria’s efforts to reduce dependence on imported petroleum products.

Empirical reported that stockbrokers were optimistic about the offer as presentations on the IPO got underway on Monday.

The development also comes at a time when changes in crude oil prices are affecting petrol prices in Nigeria, making the performance of local refining capacity increasingly important to the economy.
