Supporters of Governor Ademola Adeleke took to the streets in parts of Osun State to celebrate his re-election.
Large celebrations were reported in Osogbo, the state capital, and Ede, Adeleke’s hometown, following INEC’s declaration of the governor as the winner of Saturday’s election.
Supporters were seen singing, dancing and chanting in celebration of the result.
Adeleke secured 511,067 votes to defeat APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who received 444,815 votes.
The governor won 19 local government areas, while Oyebamiji won 11.
