The armed men reportedly stormed the school while students were sitting for the WAEC examination.
The Vice Principal, Mr. Gani Anifowose, was killed during the attack.
Two other victims, including an elderly resident and a child, also lost their lives.
Some students and residents were taken away by the attackers.
Residents said the gunmen arrived in large numbers and created panic in the community.
Many people ran into nearby bushes for safety as the attackers operated for several minutes before escaping.
Local authorities strongly condemned the attack and described it as cruel and unacceptable.
They assured residents that efforts were underway to track down those responsible and prevent future attacks.
Security agencies, including police, soldiers, and local vigilantes, quickly responded and engaged the attackers in a gunfight.
Although the gunmen fled into the forest, security forces say they are still conducting search operations in the area.
The police confirmed three deaths and said investigations are ongoing.
They also noted that there is still no confirmed evidence of a mass student abduction, but operations are continuing to clarify what happened during the attack.
