UEFA has announced that this year’s UEFA Champions League final between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain will kick off at 5pm BST on May 30, earlier than the usual 8pm start.
UEFA said the earlier kick-off is meant to improve the experience for fans, teams and the host city.
According to the football body, the new time will make it easier for families and younger fans to attend the match.
It will also help supporters travel home safely after the game because public transport services will still be available.
UEFA added that the earlier finish could also benefit the host city economically, as fans would have more time to celebrate after the match.
The organisation also believes the new schedule will help more people around the world watch the final on television and online, especially younger viewers.
UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin said the decision was made with supporters in mind.
He explained that an earlier start on a Saturday would allow fans to enjoy the rest of the evening, even if the match goes into extra time or penalties.
The final between Arsenal and PSG is expected to be one of the biggest matches in European football this season.
